At Cole Neuroscience Center at Northshore, we’re looking for a Precertification Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role is essential in creating a positive experience for our patients while supporting the smooth operation of our clinic. Location: Knoxville, TN – Cole Neuroscience Center at Northshore Job Type: Full-Time – Monday – Friday 8am-4:30pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
1 year in a hospital or clinical setting
Strong customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and compassion.

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Schedule follow-up visits, labs, and new patient appointments.
Ensure accurate documentation and follow-up.
Secure prior authorizations for MRIs, CTs, and surgery cases.
Coordinate referrals and notify patients about scheduled tests.
Assist with billing processes, including Good Faith Estimates and FMLA paperwork.
Greet patients warmly and professionally.
Verify insurance, collect copays, and update registration details.
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in patient records.
Answer calls promptly and return messages within 24 hours.
Direct calls appropriately and assist with triage.
