Requirements

  • AS in Manufacturing Technology preferred (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 4+ years with CAD/CAM—Esprit/Mastercam and SolidWorks strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years with CNC equipment in manufacturing; medical device experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with mechanical and CMM inspection methods.
  • Comfort with MS Office and modern CAD/CAM tools.
  • A self‑starter who thrives in fast‑paced settings.
  • A quick learner eager to expand manufacturing knowledge.
  • Reliable and team‑oriented, with an open, cooperative approach.
  • Organized and able to plan and execute across teams.
  • An effective verbal and written communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and validate programs for CNC lathes and mills across the shop.
  • Design and program workholding fixtures for prototype, low‑, and high‑volume work.
  • Cut cycle times by optimizing code, cutting tools, and fixturing while protecting quality.
  • Document and sustain processes for legacy products and new introductions.
  • Troubleshoot machining‑related quality issues; respond rapidly to production needs.
  • Research, test, and launch new tools, workholding, and programming technologies.
  • Ensure new programs align with facility product flow and departmental Standard Process Instructions.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.
  • Document all work on work orders, inspection sheets, maintenance logs, and other required records.
  • Verify previous operation sign‑offs and part counts before starting—halt and escalate if anything is wrong.
  • Perform equipment checks before each operation—stop immediately if an issue is detected.
  • Confirm measuring tools are calibrated, in date, and functioning properly before use.
  • Maintain part ID and traceability; never proceed if identification is questionable.
  • Reference all applicable drawings, specifications, and Manufacturing Process Instructions prior to machining.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and speech with teammates across functions.
  • Read and apply engineering specs and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Create solid models, drawings, and toolpaths in CAD/CAM.
  • Develop and elevate advanced CNC machining and inspection processes.
  • Learn fast; bring strong, hands‑on mechanical aptitude.
  • Set aggressive plans, manage expectations, follow up consistently, and escalate to meet commitments.
  • Deliver results with urgency, adaptability, and a positive attitude—even in ambiguity.
  • Own outcomes and uphold professional standards of behavior at all times.
