About The Position

Step onto 3rd shift and keep our press tooling at its best Imagine starting your night at 10:00 pm in our 300+ employee union facility in Chilton, WI. You review the night’s production priorities, check tooling status, and walk the floor—safety first, verifying lockout/tagout is followed. You’ll move between the toolroom and the presses, disassembling and rebuilding dies, machining components on lathes, mills, and surface grinders, and dialing in equipment to hit tight specs. By 6:00 am, you’ve left the area spotless, completed your documentation, and handed off a stable process for the next shift. Requirements

  • Proficiency with lathes, mills, and surface grinders
  • Strong blueprint reading and math skills; ability to inspect in-process parts to ±0.0005" tolerance
  • Capability to work independently and handle cross-functional tasks
  • Comfort collaborating with maintenance, electrical, engineering, quality, and production teams
  • Fluency converting metric and English measurements
  • Experience observing operations, diagnosing issues, and correcting out-of-tolerance conditions
  • Interpersonal leadership, effective problem solving, and professional written/verbal communication
  • Customer focus, urgency, and commitment to team success
  • Strong computer skills
  • 2–5 years as a machinist, tool and die technician, or similar (required)
  • Hands-on die maintenance (sharpening, repair, grinding, timing, modification) (required)
  • Ability to read complex drawings and fabricate appropriate components (required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Machinist certification preferred

Responsibilities
