In this role, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of the Premium Billing Department, supervising and developing a team while ensuring work is accurate, timely, and compliant. You’ll manage staffing and workflows, handle hiring and performance actions, and keep leadership informed through regular reporting. You’ll also oversee complex billing activities such as refunds, payment plans, promissory notes, and payment monitoring, responding to billing and commission inquiries and using data and reconciliation to drive billing accuracy, process improvements, and higher service levels. Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in insurance billing, auditing, claims, or underwriting; or 4+ years’ accounting/business office experience with strong billing reconciliation responsibilities.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or coaching staff in a billing, accounting, or insurance operations environment.
  • Hands-on experience with core billing, auditing, underwriting, or claims processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
  • Experience with billing systems such as Guidewire or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of payment processing and monitoring (payment plans, refunds, promissory notes) and related reporting/reconciliation.
  • Strong leadership presence, analytical and data-driven, with high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Customer-centric, collaborative, comfortable managing competing priorities and complex escalations in a fast-paced, metrics-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement.
