The Presales Engineering Team is the technical lifeblood of the Sales Organization. Our engineers bring to life the innovative solutions that make a difference in the moments that matter. The Presale Systems Engineer partners closely with customers and the sales team, delivering customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges of first responder, government, and non first responder customers within the US Federal Government Civilian and Law Enforcement customer base. Working within a team of sales, service, engineering, and technical support resources, the Presale Systems Engineer is the overall owner of a solution’s technical design, ensuring we meet our customers’ needs. The engineering team supports the entire ecosystem and concentrates on the following mission-critical technologies at various levels of complexity: Public safety grade mobile voice and data networks Advanced mobile devices Public safety mobile broadband networks and devices Integrated command and control software Mobile and fixed video solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a necessary security clearance as required by government contract
  • A positive attitude with a can-do first approach that enables you to be creative, resourceful and deliver results
  • Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences and makes them understandable
  • Willingness to think out of the box and challenge the status quo
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in the Linthicum Heights, MD office a minimum of 3 days a week
  • Travel Expected < 25%
  • This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3GPP 4G/5G, FirstNet/Frontline) - highly desirable
  • Experience with Cloud (FedRAMP), IP networking architecture, protocols and security highly desirable
  • Knowledge of RF coverage predictions, microwave design, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets an asset
