Come work in a child care center that supports not only the children in our care but also our staff, whether they are seeking a career with us or elsewhere. As an Assistant Director with the Early Learning Centers, you’ll be part of a team supporting teachers for children aged 6 weeks to five years. You will have the opportunity to focus on the positive and on the success of the team by: providing excellent customer service for parents, staff, members, and guests; managing records and data for the site, including computerized enrollments, student tracking, and billing; and supervising the site's openers and closers. We offer all full time employees 100% employer-paid medical, vision, and dental plans. All full time employees also receive complimentary Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and Life Insurance coverage. When we say we nurture great connections and build great futures, we don’t just mean for the students; as a member of our ELC team, you’ll strengthen your future as well through annual tuition reimbursement, the TEACH program, assistance with getting a CDA, and a 7% pension plan. These are some of the additional things you will do as an Assistant Director with our child care centers: Dispense and record medication and keep the allergy log up to date. Develop a comprehensive understanding of Conscious Discipline and the Pyramid Model for Social and Emotional Learning. Staff classrooms as needed. Exemplify teamwork by being first to respond to codes whenever possible. Maintain the safety of our children and staff, and ensure an optimal experience for all. This role is a full time role, and it requires you to be on-site from 8:30am to 5:30pm to address parent and staff needs. Our students range from 6 weeks to 5 years and are generally grouped into six age-based classes; Assistant Directors are expected, however, to be able to support families and staff for all age groups. We have great leaders that can teach you skills on the job, but there are some actions and goals that will make you more successful as an Assistant Director. You know that child care settings have more to do than educate, so you greet each child by name and take an interest in their families and lives. You want to create a positive workplace where the focus is on encouragement and confidentiality. You believe that uniqueness should be celebrated and support including all persons, regardless of background or beliefs. You respect your team and communicate when you are experiencing difficulty meeting responsibilities. As part of our commitment to child and member safety, there are some additional steps that all hires will be asked to complete. You will need to provide 3 references. These references should be professional references, but references from non-family members over the age of 18 who can speak to your character and professionalism can be substituted in the absence of work experience. You will also be asked to complete a drug screen (for drugs that are illegal in the state of Nevada), background check, and fingerprint check. We have a commitment to being GREAT. At our Reno/Sparks Early Learning Centers, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a great life, inspired by GREAT values: Generosity, Respect, Encouragement, Accountability, and Trustworthiness. The Early Learning Centers are committed to practicing those values to create places where every child feels safe and connected—a place to belong and a place to become—and a fun, positive work environment where you can be sure you’re making a difference.
