About The Position

The professional hired will be responsible for assisting in the general supervision and management of fully potty-trained children between the ages of two and a half and five years of age.

Requirements

Proof of completion of 6 or more Early Childhood Education (ECE) Units OR proof of completion of at least 2 units of ECE and enrollment in current ECE class, working towards completion of 6 units
Clear criminal background check (a clear Livescan for Community Care Licensing is a condition of employment)
Experience teaching in a preschool classroom
Positive professional references and recommendations
CPR and First Aid Certification
Proof of immunizations
Proof of completed Mandated Reporter training for Child Care Providers
Cleared TB test to work in Licensed Child Care Facility

Nice To Haves

Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
Basic Preschool Catechetical Certification (preferred)
Respects and understands a Catholic school philosophy

Responsibilities

Assist preschool teacher in an instructional capacity and performs the specific duties assigned by the Preschool Director.
Assist preschool teacher in grade appropriate instructional program including Lesson planning, classroom preparation and assessment of each student’s performance and development.
Supervises students.
Respecting and honoring the needs of the individual children.
Detects and reports to preschool director any student concerns.
Helps create and follow plans to support students.
Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.
Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-services.
Attends other school functions and activities as necessary.
Use computers, overhead projectors, document cameras, iPad, and other electronic equipment.
Return voicemail/e-mail messages in a timely manner
Communicate regularly with parents in person and must be able to write professional emails.
Complete tasks in a timely manner.
Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
Demonstrate a respectful demeanor
Observe utmost confidentiality
