About The Position

This role performs as a major mental health and ATOD prevention educator within the catchment area. Travel will be required within this area. This position is located in Ozark, Alabama.
Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:30pm; Friday 8am - 12pm

Requirements

• BS degree in a human services related field and 1 year experience in substance abuse including the following:
• 2,000 hours in substance abuse prevention
• 100 hours of prevention education training including 4 hours of Prevention specific HIV/Aids education, 6 hours of prevention specific ethics and 4 hours of Managing a Disruptive Audience Behavior and a minimum of 120 hours of supervised practical experience with at least 10 of the following:
• Individual/Peer
• Family
• Community
• School
• Must have a signed code of ethics form with evaluations from supervisors or colleagues
• OR
• The Prevention Director provides general supervision of the person with a minimum of 2 hours direct supervision each month

Responsibilities

• Developing and presenting programs to update the targeted population
• Conducting research on applicable topics
• Serve as an operational liaison between the Center and the community
• Some travel is required within the catchment area
