Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED - Required
  • Less than 3 years
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to understand and interpret process settings and center lines
  • Ability to use a calculator
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with MES, Paylocity, and other internal database and tracking software
  • Ability to read and interpret Fitesa product codes, production schedules, and operations documents
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and good mechanical abilities
  • Ability to apply basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to read and interpret measurements from a ruler, tape measure, or other measuring device in standard and metric systems
  • Statistical Analysis skills with the ability to establish and audit against goals
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a team with other Slitter operators to ensure line goals are met; flexibility to help with packaging duties and/or other lines as needed
  • Demonstrated familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment preferably of a large size, high speed nature
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail
  • Possesses a quality and customer-focused mindset
  • Willingness and ability to train, motivate, and coach other team members
  • Able to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Familiar with air and water pollution control technology and federal, state and community regulatory agency workings
  • Willingness and ability to learn and perform other functions in the plant
  • Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours including rotating shifts as needed
  • Possess communication skills to relate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant’s facilities equipment
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Other duties, activities or responsibilities as assigned
