About The Position

Storable is seeking a Principal Architect to serve as a senior technical leader within our multi-vertical SaaS organization. Reporting to executive engineering leadership, this role is responsible for defining and stewarding the long-term architectural vision across our product portfolio, ensuring our systems evolve in a scalable, cohesive, and durable manner. The Principal Architect will drive clarity in complex environments, guides high-impact design decisions, and elevates architectural thinking across the organization. Scope and Strategic Impact The Principal Architect operates at the intersection of technology, product strategy, and organizational design. Key areas of impact include: Defining and stewarding the architectural vision across all SaaS product verticals, ensuring long-term coherence and adaptability. Ensuring architectural decisions support scalability, resilience, maintainability, and sustained business growth. Influencing technical direction across diverse technology stacks—harmonizing where it creates value, preserving autonomy where it drives innovation. Serving as a trusted advisor to executive and engineering leadership on strategic technology investments, build-versus-buy decisions, and technical tradeoffs. Accelerating engineering velocity and improving system health through pragmatic, high-leverage architectural improvements. Why This Role Matters As Storable continues to grow, the Principal Architect ensures that growth is intentional and architecturally sound. This leader is responsible for building software that is scalable, adaptable, and strategically aligned, reducing friction across teams, enabling innovation across our product portfolio, and ensuring our technical investments compound over time. This is a role for a systems thinker who operates in years, not quarters, someone who can bring clarity to complexity while empowering teams to execute with confidence and speed.

  • Proven experience working across multiple product domains, technology stacks, and organizational boundaries simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence executives, VPs, and senior engineering stakeholders through clear communication, data-driven reasoning, and executive presence.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, evolve, and communicate architectural principles, patterns, and guardrails that apply across all product lines.
  • Lead architectural alignment across autonomous teams, balancing standardization with the flexibility needed to serve distinct market verticals.
  • Identify systemic risks, technical debt concentrations, and single points of failure; develop and champion long-term modernization strategies.
  • Define clear boundaries for where standardization creates leverage versus where flexibility delivers competitive advantage.
  • Guide the design and evolution of large-scale, distributed SaaS platforms—including service decomposition, data partitioning, and fault-tolerance strategies.
  • Provide architectural review and advisory on high-impact initiatives, integrations, acquisitions, and cross-platform convergence efforts.
  • Shape service boundaries, API contracts, data architecture, event-driven patterns, and integration models.
  • Proactively reduce technical complexity and prevent long-term architectural drift through governance, documentation, and design reviews.
  • Partner directly with VPs of Engineering, Product leadership, and other senior stakeholders to align architecture with business strategy and product roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with platform, security, infrastructure, and data engineering teams to ensure cohesive, organization-wide system design.
  • Lead through influence and expertise, driving consensus and alignment in a federated, multi-vertical environment.
