About The Position

Principal Data Analyst positions offered by Capital One Services, LLC (Plano, Texas). Exercising discretion at a more senior level, leverage analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions and capabilities to tackle business problems. Use Open Source/Digital technologies to mine complex, voluminous, and different varieties of data sources and platforms. Build well-managed data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers. Utilize new technologies to progress varied initiatives. Partner with the business to provide consultancy and translate the business needs to design and develop tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization. Drive analysis that provides meaningful insights on business strategies. Drive an understanding and adherence to the principles of data quality management including metadata, lineage, and business definitions. Work collaboratively with appropriate Tech teams to manage security mechanisms and data access governance. Build and execute tools to monitor and report on data quality. Minimum Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field and 5 years of experience in performing data analytics. In lieu of a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 5 years of experience as stated, employer will accept a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 3 years of experience as stated. Must pass company assessment. Position reports to Plano, TX office. Telecommuting permitted in accordance with company policy, but must live within commuting distance of stated office. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently. Eligible for employee referral program. Also requires 3 years of experience: Working with at least one scripting language; Utilizing a business intelligence visualization tool; and Querying, analyzing, and working with data languages and platforms. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. Plano, TX: $119,400 - $136,200 for Principal Data Analyst Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan. Requirements
