MasTec Power Delivery is seeking a Principal Distribution Engineer to provide senior-level technical leadership for electric utility distribution projects. This role serves as a technical authority, supporting complex design efforts, mentoring engineering staff, and collaborating with project teams and utility clients to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality power distribution solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of electric utility distribution engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of overhead and underground distribution systems and industry standards

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review complex overhead and underground distribution designs (typically 4 kV–35 kV).
• Ensure compliance with utility standards, NESC, NEC, and applicable codes.
• Provide technical guidance to project managers, construction teams, and engineering staff.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and support constructability and field issue resolution.
• Mentor engineers and designers; support technical training and best practices.
• Act as a technical advisor to utility clients and support proposals and project pursuits.
