Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power focus preferred).
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in electrical power systems, with significant work in mission-critical facilities (semiconductor, data center, pharma, advanced manufacturing, or utility power).
  • Expert-level knowledge of MV and LV systems, protection schemes, switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers, grounding, harmonics, and power quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical investigations and reliability engineering initiatives.
  • Proficiency with electrical system analysis software (SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or equivalent).
  • Deep understanding of codes/standards: NFPA 70/70E, IEEE standards, IEC standards, NETA, UL, NEC/NESC.
  • Experience reviewing electrical designs, commissioning, and construction submittals.
  • Strong communication skills; able to translate complex engineering concepts into clear guidance for operations teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 30–40% to support sites in Europe (Primarily Germany/Austria) as needed.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer.
  • Technical Authority: Deep mastery of electrical power systems and ability to set global standards.
  • Reliability Focus: Strong understanding of failure modes and system-level risk mitigation.
  • Operational Excellence: Demonstrated ability to support complex 24×7 operations with urgency and discipline.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Guides engineering staff, improves organizational capability, and strengthens technical culture.
  • Decision Making: Acts with strong engineering judgment, especially under pressure.
  • Communication: Clear, structured, and effective with both technical and executive audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-volume semiconductor fab environments or high-density data centers.
  • Experience implementing predictive maintenance, IoT sensors, SCADA optimization, or analytics-based reliability programs.
  • Develop Auditing program to ensure sites are compliant with service delivery expectation

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Exentec’s subject matter expert (SME) for electrical power systems: MV distribution, LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, grounding, and protection.
  • Own and maintain corporate engineering standards, design criteria, and best practices for electrical infrastructure.
  • Lead failure mode analysis, root cause investigations, and event reconstruction for power-related incidents.
  • Evaluate new technologies (digital substations, smart switchgear, arc-flash mitigation, AI-enabled monitoring, etc.) to improve reliability and safety.
  • Provide technical sign-off on engineering changes, MOC reviews, new equipment installations, and energization plans.
  • Develop and maintain facility- and region-level power reliability strategies, including redundancy planning (N, N+1, 2N, 2N+1) and reliability modeling.
  • Conduct electrical risk assessments, arc-flash studies, short-circuit analysis, load flow calculations, and relay coordination studies.
  • Lead root-cause investigations for any power disturbances, failures, or near misses.
  • Support capacity planning, peak demand forecasting, and power quality improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze operational data to reduce nuisance trips, ensure selective coordination, and enhance system resiliency.
  • Provide Tier-3 engineering support during electrical events, outages, or abnormal system behavior.
  • Support site teams with complex troubleshooting related to protection tripping, generator/UPS transitions, breaker coordination, and SCADA alarms.
  • Approve switching plans, LOTO strategies for complex systems, and re-energization procedures.
  • Partner with site operations to improve PM programs, testing protocols, and equipment lifecycle strategy.
  • Develop training programs, playbooks, and standards for electrical operations, maintenance, and emergency response.
  • Coach and mentor engineers, supervisors, and technicians across global TFM operations.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing for lessons learned, failure modes, reliability improvements, and new technologies.
  • Contribute to internal digital product development (apps, dashboards, monitoring, predictive maintenance tools).
  • Interface with client engineering teams to ensure alignment on technical requirements, power reliability goals, and future load planning.
  • Provide technical input to proposals, new business pursuits, and pricing for electrical scopes.
  • Present complex engineering topics to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, structured manner.
