About The Position

The Principal Engineer will provide senior-level fire protection engineering support focused on alarm and detection systems design within DOE nuclear facilities. This role supports engineering programs that require advanced technical problem solving, program planning, and development of engineering solutions in highly regulated environments. The engineer will define scope, develop engineering solutions, and lead the execution of complex technical programs involving fire detection and alarm system design. This position requires a recognized level of expertise within the technical discipline and the ability to lead complex engineering efforts. Responsibilities include evaluating engineering programs, developing schedules and technical plans, coordinating with internal teams and site organizations, and communicating technical results through reports and presentations. The engineer will also mentor less experienced professionals and assist in advancing engineering practices while maintaining awareness of emerging technologies and improvements applicable to fire protection engineering. Engineering services will be performed using site-specific engineering processes and procedures.
