Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military and, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control, and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation. We integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle. You'll have the opportunity to use your understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), design patterns, and Object-Oriented architecture to develop a software product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 8 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree and 5 years’ experience.
  • U.S. Citizen - The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed to interface with Development Team, Customers, Stakeholders and SMEs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and debug OBPHM Services in Linux Kubernetes environment.
  • Develop software code that implements requirements, working closely with customers, stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Decompose system level and customer interface requirements into software requirements and designs within an Agile Framework
  • Work with a team of Java and Python software developers within an Agile framework across multiple projects.
  • Conduct iterative prototype testing and reviews of requirements and designs
  • Perform software verification within the Agile Framework including regression analysis, test case development, test script development and evaluation of results
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies
  • Participate in software planning, estimating and tracking per Agile framework
  • Potential to serve as Agile Scrum Master and/or part of the Development Team
  • Review and analyze offboard software requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot code and build issues and support released software and deployments.
  • Implement, adhere to, and continuously improve software development processes and procedures
