About the position

The TDP engineering team supporting PANW's internal Threat Data Platform is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join a team of backend engineers whose responsibility is automating the analysis of threat intelligence and building tools leveraging AI that enable researchers to build, well modeled, threat intelligence. You will join a team focused on developing, innovating and scaling the Threat Data Platform and taking the data pipelines feeding it to the next level. You will help with multiple PANW’s products integration with the platform, bringing value to thousands of customers.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end backend development of features and core components across their entire life cycle (design, develop, test, deploy, maintain)
  • Design, develop, maintain and optimize data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse
  • Build scalable data warehouse and data APIs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Contribute to team-wide efforts - code reviews, design reviews, technical and architectural decisions

Requirements

  • M.S./B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent software engineering experience required or equivalent military experience required
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in building large enterprise applications and data APIs
  • Experience in building and maintaining complex data pipelines and analytical solutions
  • Must have hands-on programming skills in Java
  • Experience with developing REST API’s
  • Experience in Python programming, expertise in Linux and shell scripting skills are a significant plus
  • Experience with one or more cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, their services (BQ, BT, DataFlow, Pubsub etc) and Kubernetes
  • Strong knowledge of databases SQL, NoSQL, Time series, GraphDB etc
  • Experience with Big data tools like Spark, Kafka, etc.
