Pure Storage is seeking an experienced Principal Enterprise Architect to join our Digital Transformation Group (DTG). The DTG is a collaborative team dedicated to accelerating business outcomes through modern technology. In this role, you will be the primary architect shaping our AI/GenAI foundations , strategy, and scalability. While AI is the primary focus, you will also play a key role in evolving our Data & Analytics ecosystem and providing technical guidance across cloud engineering, security, and custom application development. This position balances high-level strategic planning with the practical creation of architectural patterns and prototypes.

Requirements

  • Architectural Expertise: Extensive experience in enterprise, domain, or solution architecture, with a proven ability to influence technical direction across a large organization.
  • AI Implementation: Demonstrated success in building and rolling out scalable AI/GenAI solutions from initial concept to production environments.
  • Strategic EA Practices: Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and practices (such as TOGAF, Zackman, capability-based planning, reference architecture, etc.) used to align technology with business goals.
  • Technical Breadth: Deep expertise in at least one of the following areas, with a functional understanding of the others: AI/GenAI: LLM platforms (OpenAI, Bedrock, Vertex AI), orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex), or vector search technologies. Data & Analytics: Modern data stacks (Snowflake, Databricks), streaming (Kafka), or data governance tools. Cloud & Platform: Public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Analytical Problem Solving: A practical approach to decision-making within fast-paced, Agile environments.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value and foster connections across global teams.
  • Tools: Experience using architecture visualization tools (e.g., Ardoq, LeanIX, Abacus) to document and communicate complex ecosystems.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering or computer science

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Vision: Define and evolve the enterprise AI/GenAI platform architecture, including shared services and operating models that support innovation.
  • Pattern Development: Establish reusable blueprints for GenAI, such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agent workflows, and observability standards.
  • Responsible Innovation: Partner with Security, Privacy, and Risk teams to integrate ethical AI guardrails, ensuring robust data handling and policy controls.
  • Data Foundations: Modernize Data & Analytics architecture to improve quality, lineage, and access, serving as the essential foundation for AI success.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Guide Domain Architects in creating multi-year roadmaps that align technology capabilities with long-term business vision.
  • Standards of Excellence: Facilitate architecture reviews and technology evaluations, publishing standards that empower engineering teams to build efficiently.
