Role Summary: Principal, Infrastructure, CPPIB America, Inc., New York, NY: Research, analyze and execute on both direct and indirect private infrastructure investments. Lead the full investment process, including origination, opportunity assessment, preparation and presentation of investment recommendations and negotiation of key deal terms. Collaborate with other investment departments across the Fund to deliver value throughout the investment lifecycle. Actively manage assets through the development of value creation plans by analyzing board materials and collaborating with management teams and partners. Manage relationships and collaborate with external stakeholders, such as advisors, banks and potential investment partners, to develop investment priorities and maximize portfolio returns. Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, $215,000 - $320,000 per year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field, and 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience in M&A and private Infrastructure investing.
  • Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field, and 6 years of work experience in M&A and private Infrastructure investing.
  • Experience investing in digital, utilities, and transportation infrastructure
  • Full cycle investment exposure, ranging from idea creation, origination, asset management to disposition
  • Experience managing key internal and external relationships including primary responsibility for portfolio companies, co-shareholders, banks, advisors, management teams and other external stakeholders
  • Experience developing, refining, and delivering value creation plans
  • Experience performing advanced research, analytical, financial modeling, valuation and problem-solving in the infrastructure sector.
  • Experience leading Investment Committee discussions on transactions and strategic matters impacting investments
  • Experience managing successful negotiations with multiple stakeholders and executing a wide range of agreements
  • Experience with the infrastructure vertical, sourcing and managing large scale (>USD$1bn) investments within North America.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day a week.
  • International travel required up to 10%
  • Domestic travel required up to 15%
