Position Overview The Principal IT Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role as a strategic partner to the IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) role, by supporting business partners of an assigned business function. This position involves shared ownership and the delivery of strategic technology initiatives, working closely with the IT BRM to manage and oversee a comprehensive portfolio of IT projects. The Portfolio Manager will lead the intake process for their assigned area, as well as support the BRM in monitoring and reporting on IT initiatives. The portfolio manager will help to align business portfolio strategies with the business's overall goals and objectives and developing a comprehensive IT portfolio strategy that supports organizational key results. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to navigate deftly in the IT space, taking nebulous requests or questions from the business and turning them into something actionable with the right IT stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Extensive experience in IT and business/industry, demonstrating increasing responsibilities.
  • Experience in setting IT strategy and business IT alignment.
  • Broad IT expertise in system development, IT service management, vendor management, and infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams, understanding stakeholder strategies, and forming collaborative relationships.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • 8 years of experience in IT and business/industry.
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role within IT strategy and business alignment.
  • Proven experience in a Business Relationship Manager/ Program Management or similar customer-facing role.
  • Experience with Multi-Cancer Early Detection tests and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management: Partner with the IT BRM to oversee and manage the IT portfolio for the assigned partner organization, ensuring strategic alignment and effective delivery of IT initiatives.
  • Strategic Planning and Alignment: Collaborate with the IT BRM to align IT portfolio strategies with business goals and objectives. Facilitate the development of a comprehensive IT portfolio strategy that supports organizational key results. Work with business partners as assigned.
  • Communication and Reporting: Facilitate clear and effective communication between IT and business stakeholders. Work with the BRM and the business to prepare and deliver regular reports and presentations to keep stakeholders informed about IT initiatives, project status, and performance metrics, from intake through change control and including capacity planning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their unique requirements, challenges, and goals to effectively represent their needs within the IT department. Work with the BRM function to understand both the Exact Sciences as well as the business functional portfolio.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a liaison across IT departments and core teams, aligning business partner needs and priorities with IT capacity and priorities. Be prepared and capable of filling in spaces where the assigned BRM cannot be.
  • Business Strategy Requirements: Work closely with business units to elicit, shape, document, and prioritize business strategy requirements, and facilitate their transfer to IT teams for development into actionable solutions. Work with the IT intake function to understand the functional demands and help facilitate them through the intake process.
  • Proactivity and Adaptability: Be proactive and forward-thinking in response to changes in the external environment and organizational needs, ensuring adaptability and resilience.
  • Collaboration and Alignment: Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment on client needs. Understand how to navigate the complex IT operating model and demonstrate success building cross functional collaboration.
