Raytheon has an opportunity for a Principal Linux System Administrator based in Pelham, NH for operational support and sustainment for a high priority operational environment which supports a critical U.S. Government mission. This position will support an evolving system with opportunities for the candidate to provide technical input and direction for the architectural changes necessary to support growing requirements of the system. This candidate is expected to be self-directed, able to multi-task and prioritize work, possess problem solving skills, have written and verbal communication skills, is customer focused, and organized. The candidate will follow Raytheon engineering process as well as other government mandated processes during the life cycle of systems they will maintain. What You Will Do: You will provide System Administration in a heterogeneous Redhat 8 & 9 Enterprise Linux environment. You will utilize virtualization and containerization technologies, including VMware vCenter, vSphere, Horizon, ESXi, KVM, Podman, Docker, and Kubernetes/OpenShift. Collaborate with engineers, software developers, systems administrators, storage, networking, and high-performance computing teams to resolve complex infrastructure and integration challenges. Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure continuous compliance with regulatory and security frameworks such as DFARS, RMF, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Provide critical, on-site support for mission systems in a closed DoD area, responding to both planned and emergent tasks, with occasional work outside standard hours and up to 10% travel as required. Obtain and maintain DoD 8140 / 8570 certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or equivalent) within six months of hire. This position is 100% onsite role.
