Manufacturing Engineering provides technical expertise to numerous manufacturing and development programs within Raytheon. Our work involves electronic hardware for radar, missile and combat systems. The Andover, MA location has over 1 million square feet of manufacturing/production space where product is both assembled and tested. The Project Engineer role will work Transition to Production activities for RMD Effectors based Circuit Card Manufacturing programs. This position will be onsite. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in Circuit Card Manufacturing
  • Experience in DFMAs, MRL/MRA and PFMEAs
  • Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and transition to production
  • Ability to travel as required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Detailed working knowledge of CMES, PRISM and PDM
  • Demonstration of driving continuous improvement, affordability projects and capital projects in manufacturing
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Raytheon Technical Data Package/Manufacturing Data Package Certified
  • Ability to identify, reduce and eliminate cost, quality, and schedule constraints through technical engagements
  • Understand and utilize factory and program performance data
  • CORE Certified
  • Experience with automated tooling, machinery, and programming

Responsibilities

  • Acts as technical interface for factory/program coordination efforts for Effectors programs in the Circuit Card Manufacturing area
  • Supports POM in tasks to overcome technical challenges in program execution related to Andover CCM
  • Apply manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs
  • Leverage knowledge and technical skills to influence business decisions and results from new designs to recurring production
  • Design, control, and improve the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
  • Lead and coordinate projects, efforts, and improvements across the extended value streams
  • Act as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program
  • Coordinates with component engineering for obsolescence, part selection, component issues
  • Communicates and coordinates change reviews and effectivities with CM and IPL, including CNs and Variances
  • Participate in program ERBs, CCBs, MRBs
  • Evaluates factory technical issues and escalates as appropriate to program engineering, program leadership, MPMs
  • Supports Proposal efforts, BOEs, PBOMs, ROMs, SOWs
  • Supports DFMA, PFMEA, MRA/MMA activities, APQP
  • Assists in resolving factory to factory quality issues, RCCA
  • Engages in NPI efforts, design reviews, coordinate with factory design teams and engineering hardware
