About The Position

The Principal Mechanical Engineer researches, plans, designs, develops, analyzes and tests a variety of mechanical equipment items and systems, including chassis, hardware assembly, installation hardware and installation design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • 3D Modeling (Pro/E, Catia, Solidworks, etc. Solidworks preferred).
  • 3D Engineering analysis tools. (ANSYS/Solidworks Simulation etc.).
  • Microsoft Office including the use of Excel and an engineering tool.
  • ESD Safety Training, as dictated by Safety Department

  • PhD is optional
  • Master degree is optional

Responsibilities

  • Ability to apply practical engineer science, design and technology.
  • Understanding of current manufacturing processes and how they relate to design.
  • Conceptualize, design and oversea fabrication of efficient complex mechanical systems and analyze for manufacturability and cost.
  • Be able to understand and produce engineering drawings.
  • Create procedures for carrying out various mechanical testing.
  • Communicate changes in design and assembly with management and production staff.
  • Estimate cost to produce design including material and labor costs (assembly and fabrication).
  • Calculate mechanical requirements to meet system design specifications.
  • Understanding of static and dynamic events and how they relate to structural integrity.
  • Ability to design electronic packages for harsh environments and maintain required reliability.
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits and their effect on mechanical performance.
  • Working knowledge of techniques to mitigate EMI issues.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
