Role Summary The PLM Demo Architect is a core member of the Technical Demo Development organization, responsible for designing, developing, and delivering compelling PLM demonstrations and assets that showcase the value of PTC’s product portfolio. This multidisciplinary role blends deep PLM expertise, product storytelling, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on technical virtual environment creation. The PLM Demo Architect creates high-impact demonstration kits, polished technical videos, and robust virtual demo environments that equip global sales, marketing, and customer success with scalable, value-driven assets. These demonstrations support outcomes ranging from flagship, event-level showcases to modular kits that highlight specific capabilities, aligned with the organization’s mission to deliver engaging, value-centric PLM experiences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering and/or manufacturing system architecture with expertise in PLM and processes spanning product development, planning, manufacturing/production, and quality.
  • Strong grasp of master data governance, Digital Thread, and Digital Product Traceability principles.
  • Strong project/program management capabilities; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced global environment.
  • Deep understanding of PLM concepts, product development processes, and enterprise engineering/manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience with multiple PTC products (e.g., Creo, Windchill, Codebeamer, ServiceMax).
  • Hands -on experience with PLM systems (preferably Windchill), CAD data structures, BOM transformation, and related engineering data models.
  • Ability to craft compelling business-value oriented narratives showcasing- product capabilities.
  • Comfort producing or participating in video content—voiceover, walkthroughs, and demonstration explanation.
  • Experience working with virtual machines and cloud demo environments.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into accessible, value-oriented demo experiences.
  • Background in technical marketing, solution consulting, or product/solution architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Architect & Deliver Demonstration Kits Lead the end-to-end- development of PLM demo kits, ranging from simple capability spotlights to fully integrated Intelligent Product Lifecycle (digital thread) scenarios spanning multiple PTC products (e.g., CAD, PLM, ALM, SLM) Gather and reconcile requirements from cross-functional stakeholders including Product Management, Segment Leadership, Sales, Marketing, and Solution Consulting. Collaborate with global subject-matter experts to ensure technical and business alignment across all assets. Build deliverables such as: Demo scripts, scenario narratives, and value messaging Software “picks and clicks” workflows Training videos with audio walkthroughs emphasizing features, benefits, and value propositions Supporting documentation for global scalability and field enablement
  • Develop & Support Industry Event Demonstrations Partner with stakeholders to design and develop PLM demonstrations within comprehensive Intelligent Product Lifecycle (digital thread) scenarios for global industry events. Assist in the preparation and delivery of Intelligent Product Lifecycle demonstrations, presenting to customers at industry conferences and exhibitions. Develop enablement materials and provide training to technical personnel on demonstration content for industry event presentations. Compose scripts for demonstration videos and enablement materials. Facilitate the scaling of demonstration content created for industry events for use by field resources such as Solution Consultants.
  • Design & Maintain Virtual Demo Environments Apply real world- product development processes to stage demonstration systems that reflect how modern engineering organizations work. Structure examples, workflows, and artifacts to highlight enterprise value, process efficiency, cross-domain collaboration, and PLM-driven business outcomes. Create or enhance generic or customer-sourced datasets to support realistic product development scenarios that reflect industry best practices. Load, configure, and validate demonstration data—including CAD, PLM structures, classifications, supplier data, EBOM/MBOM content, service and manufacturing data, and requirements. Work with global experts to keep demo content aligned with market trends, customer needs, and PTC strategic narratives. Partner closely with the Demo Infrastructure Architect to build, configure, and maintain cloud hosted- PLM demonstration environments, forming the foundation for all demo experiences. Ensure environment stability, performance, and usability for internal demo publishers and field teams. Support continuous innovation in demo delivery platforms and virtual environment capabilities.
  • Develop Technical Videos Serve as the on-camera and/or narrative expert who clearly articulates PLM capabilities in the context of business value, industry relevance, and a compelling story arc. Script, record, and produce video content that effectively demonstrates core product functionality, advanced use cases, and end-to-end digital thread workflows. Collaborate with the Technical Demo Visualization (demo video production) team for editing, voiceover, and production enhancements.
