Full-time • Principal

We’re looking for a Principal Product Designer who is operating at an expert level of experience and influence—someone who brings strategic depth, design excellence, and a sharp, independent point of view to every room they’re in. This is a defining role at a critical inflection point for the product design function at Hims & Hers. We’re evolving not just what we make, but how product design shows up—across teams, across the company, and in the experience we deliver to millions of users. You’ll be instrumental in shaping what comes next. Reporting to the VP of Product Design for Core Experiences, you’ll work in close partnership to set the bar, explore bold new ideas, and lead key initiatives across the product. This is a role for a highly autonomous and impact-driven leader—someone who thrives in ambiguity, proposes new paths forward, and can confidently take ideas from vision to execution.

  • Lead with autonomy and clarity. Drive initiatives that are ambiguous, undefined, or entirely new—bringing structure, insight, and energy to the work.
  • Own high-impact workstreams. Guide key product experiences from zero to one, and scale what’s already working with sharp, system-aligned execution.
  • Partner at the highest level. Collaborate deeply with Product Design, Product, Engineering, Research, and Marketing leaders to define strategy, influence roadmaps, and align execution.
  • Zoom in and out seamlessly. Move fluidly between high-level conceptual thinking and hands-on design of flows, interactions, and screens.
  • Mentor and elevate. Provide critique, feedback, and thought leadership across the design org—shaping not just the work, but the way we work.
  • Act as a force-multiplier. Help mature our design systems, rituals, and processes in a way that empowers the entire team to move faster and better.
  • Help shape the future. Work directly with the VP of Product Design to define what world-class product design looks like at Hims & Hers—and help bring that vision to life.
  • 12+ years of product design experience, with substantial time spent in in-house roles at scaled product companies.
  • Experience in senior or director-level Individual contributor roles (IC), with a track record of leading high-stakes initiatives and influencing org-wide outcomes.
  • A portfolio that showcases visionary thinking, crisp visual execution, and the ability to navigate ambiguity with clarity and precision.
  • Deep familiarity with cross-functional product development, especially with Product and Engineering partners.
  • Confidence working independently—proposing ideas, framing opportunities, and guiding work with minimal direction.
  • Fluency with Figma, design systems, and modern design tools.
  • Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles
  • Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days
  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)
  • 401k benefits with employer matching contribution
  • Offsite team retreats
