Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Product Trainer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located onsite in Melbourne, Florida.

  • Develops training curriculum, study outlines, and orientation materials to be employed during procedures-based maintenance training.
  • Support the development of criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
  • Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and maintain updated technical information.
  • Provide input to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
  • Demonstrate and use effective training analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.
  • Develop instruction materials – self-paced guides, case studies, job aids, evaluations; scenario-based course outlines.
  • Develop training materials – classroom materials, instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, related materials; curricula to support program implementation across target audiences.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions for satisfying unique skills-based training requirements.
  • Create and analyze assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities – e.g., pre-tests, post-tests, and quizzes.
  • Use ISD current Learning Theory to solve complex learning and performance problems.
  • 6 or more years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience as an electrical/environmental system or hydraulics system technician.
  • 3 or more years of aircraft maintenance classroom instruction and formal training course development.
  • Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
  • Must have working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards.
  • Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access (es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with 3+ years of experience in courseware development, instruction or industry training content development OR a master’s degree with 1 year of experience in the same OR 7 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • 3 or more years of aircraft maintenance classroom instruction and formal training course development at a Field Training Detachment or Maintenance Training Flight.
  • 6 or more years of experience in courseware development, instruction or industry training content development.
  • An Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted/renewed within the past 6 years.
  • A background with bomber, airlift, or refueler aircraft electrical/environmental or hydraulic systems.
  • Able to interpret schematic drawings, and technical publications.
  • Experience inspecting, operating, troubleshooting, removing, repairing, overhauling, and installing aircraft electrical/environment and/or hydraulic systems and components on bomber, cargo, or refueler airframes.
  • Capable of performing operational tests on aircraft components determining condition, analyzing performance, and isolating malfunctions.
  • Basic understanding of Agile processes.
  • Design and development of curriculum for advanced technologies.
  • Experience using courseware development tools – LCMS and LMS.
