About The Position

The Missile Solutions Capacity Expansion team is seeking a Principal, Program Manager to lead a team responsible for meeting cost, schedule, and technical performance goals to design manufacturing processes and facilities as part of a larger effort to expand capacity. This individual will lead various team members across disciplines within a matrix organization, aligning high level objectives with detailed designs. This position will benefit from strong technical understanding of solid rocket motors and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include guiding the team, collaborating with cross-functional groups, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and on-budget execution of process/site development, change management, proper approvals and delivery of required capacity increase. This Program Manager will operate within a larger PMO Structure and have high visibility with executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior Program, Facility or Construction Management experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior Program, Facility or Construction Management experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior Program, Facility or Construction Management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • 3+ years construction project management experience (aerospace & defense manufacturing sites preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Experience in large construction and infrastructure program deliverables like industrial facility development, manufacturing site construction, utilities installation, and change management.
  • Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) manufacturing site experience.
  • Experience working at an Energetics site.
  • Previous Experience in construction management, civil engineering, or facilities development with focus on large-scale industrial projects.
  • Experience with construction contract management including design-build, design-bid-build, and CM-at-risk delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of building codes, OSHA safety requirements, environmental regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Previous Experience in Operations with focus on automation is desired.
  • Experience with MS Office suite of tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience with ORACLE ERP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and SharePoint
  • Defense industry experience.
  • Previous Experience in managing change board process through Failure Review Boards, Technical Change boards, Change Control Boards, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or other scheduling tools.
  • PMP Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary team including construction managers, civil engineers, facilities planners, and technical specialists to achieve key business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including contractors, architects, engineers, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and on-budget project execution.
  • Manage program deliverables to ensure construction schedules, budgets, and timelines are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Update team status against the integrated master schedule (IMS) and report on financial performance to stakeholders.
  • Ensure resources are available and aligned with program objectives across Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to construction delays, supply chain issues, weather impacts, and regulatory compliance.
  • Create and maintain Project Management Plan (PMP), construction schedules, action item lists, and risk/opportunity register.
  • Control expenditures within budget and regularly report on budget vs. actual performance.
  • Provide updates for scheduled Program Management Reviews and own program baseline reviews and close-outs.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and permitting processes.
  • Coordinate construction activities with ongoing operations to minimize disruption.
  • The selected candidate must be able to support 25-50% business travel to site locations (Camden, Huntsville & Orange) as needed for inspections, contractor meetings, and milestone reviews.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
