The UI Systems team leads initiatives shaping the future of immersive UI at Roblox. As the central and largest UI-focused team working on the Roblox application, we lead a wide range of projects that touch every aspect of creating immersive and cross-platform UI solutions. This includes everything from the underlying UI framework to user-facing features and solutions for our community of Creators. Responsibilities
- Architect the high performance UI framework, capable of delivering the high quality experiences on a variety of devices and platforms with minimal overhead.
- Create new Roblox features and optimize existing ones (e.g. Leaderboard, Backpack, Emotes) to make them delightful to use.
- Work closely with internal teams and our Creator community to help them achieve their creative UI visions.
- Take ownership of projects throughout their full lifecycle.
- Mentor more junior engineers and help them grow in their role.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working on large-scale responsive applications with sophisticated UI across multiple platforms.
- Well versed in performance monitoring, profiling and optimization.
- A fascination for UX (and UI): You love to build delightful user experiences for millions of users.
- Deep Curiosity: You are excited to work on a new UI platform inspired by React and powered by the Roblox game engine.
- Team-player mindset: You work with and inspire others around you, taking on tasks for the greater team.
- A motivation to test: TDD is exciting to you, not scary!
