About The Position

JOB TITLE: Principal Software Engineer JOB LOCATION: 200 S Laurel Ave. Middletown, NJ 07748 DUTIES: Apply engineering principles and practice in broad areas of complex technical project work that requires in-depth analysis using advanced techniques, knowledge, and expertise. Perform architecture, design, development, and deployment of systems supporting network solutions critical to AT&T. Lead efforts to consolidate multiple network configuration management applications into a unified, efficient, and scalable solution. Gather and review software requirements, provide estimates, create design specifications, and work with engineers/architects to assess and test hardware and software interactions. Design and code software applications by applying various programming languages and network protocols. Develop solutions to integrate mainframe-based legacy systems with modern non-mainframe architectures by ensuring operational continuity during transformation. Develop and implement AI/ML-driven solutions to enhance automation, improve accuracy, and optimize network provisioning processes. Create innovative Agentic AI technologies to enable autonomous decision-making and adaptability in network configuration and provisioning systems. Develop and implement automated test plans, validate test environments, data, and results, design and implement code fixes, and produce reporting. Troubleshoot and resolve application configuration and environment issues. Provide technical expertise and mentorship to cross-functional teams by ensuring alignment with AT&T’s strategic goals and industry standards. Use continuous integration continuous deployment principals along with using Agile development methodologies to ensure timely delivery and deployment of critical business features. Deploy cloud native applications on Azure and apply experience with containerization technologies: Docker and orchestration tools including Kubernetes and OpenShift. Apply knowledge of IP networking, network device configuration, network OSS architecture, Opensource technologies, and use AI technologies to develop optimal business solutions and achieve cycle time reductions. Program languages including python, Java, JavaScript, React, Angular, and shell scripting. Apply knowledge in Spring Boot, Microservices, and Spring Cloud. Develop RESTful APIs and web services for seamless integration. Apply knowledge of TIRKS. Use and develop Network Operating Support Systems (OSS) to inventory and order and manage network infrastructure. Utilize network protocols and programmatically configuration of network routers and switches. Develop AI/ML solutions to enable autonomous decision making and Intent-Based principals in network configuration.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or 5 years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in a related occupation deploying cloud native applications on Azure and applying experience with containerization technologies: Docker and orchestration tools including Kubernetes and OpenShift; applying knowledge of IP networking, network device configuration, network OSS architecture, Opensource technologies, and using AI technologies to develop optimal business solutions and achieve cycle time reductions; programming languages including python, Java, JavaScript, React, Angular, and shell scripting; applying knowledge in Spring Boot, Microservices, and Spring Cloud; developing RESTful APIs and web services for seamless integration; applying knowledge of TIRKS; using and developing Network Operating Support Systems (OSS) to inventory and ordering and managing network infrastructure; utilizing network protocols and programmatically configuration of network routers and switches; developing AI/ML solutions to enable autonomous decision making and Intent-Based principals in network configuration.
