About The Position

The C2BMC Next Program, based in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a Software Engineer to provide leadership for a software team that performs in-depth analysis and technical support of a large, distributed system written in Java. Your primary responsibilities will be software development using Java, able to work with other people using good verbal and written communication on the C2BMC program. As a Software Engineer, you will work independently or with a small group and be flexible in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment.

Requirements

  • Experience using Java.
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment
  • Knowledge of software practices and coding standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root cause, recommend and develop a solution.
  • Experience leading a software team using Agile software development practices.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex problem resolution assisting software team in design, development, testing, integration, and user-support for a large code baseline.
  • Follow specifications to develop or modify stories for the software team to work - Assist in removing blockers from software team.
  • Interface with other system support groups and software leadership to resolve problems, set standards and improve overall efficiency of the system.
  • Developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Software Integration testing including developing automated test scripts.
  • Risk Management Framework/STIG/Fortify mitigation, designing and developing microservices and deploying with containers.
