Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to update and maintain operational tools for the customer as part of our team in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a Ground program. Ultimately, you will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission. Development is done within the Agile paradigm using the Atlassian tool suite. The work is full-time in the office. The qualified candidate must have and be able to maintain a DoD clearance. The successful candidate will have Software development experience, with the ability to digest changes and synthesize them into working designs, generate efficient code according to the specifications, and adapt to changes as necessary that are driven by bugs or specification updates or the customer. The candidate is expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment, and to be highly self-motivated, reporting information to leads and the customer. The individual is expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast-paced environment that continues to grow. This position can be filled from one of our locations in Morrisville, North Carolina, Fairfax, Virginia, or Linthicum, Maryland. (compensation varies within range depending on location) This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.

  • For Level 3: BS + 5 years of experience; MS + 3 years of experience; PhD + 0 years of experience; or 9 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • For Level 4: BS + 8 years of experience; MS + 6 years of experience; PhD + 3 years of experience; or 12 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience developing on teams using Agile methodology, process, and tools.
  • Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting in Java and SpringBoot.
  • Experience with Model-View-Controller frameworks such as SpringMVC.
  • Experience with Identity and access management such as KeyCloak.
  • Experience with MySQL databases.
  • Experience with Linux environment.
  • STEM degree.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
