Position: Principal, Strategic Contracting Position Summary: The Principal, Strategic Contracting is a senior, expert-level negotiator responsible for personally leading the company's most critical and complex provider contract negotiations. This individual will serve as the lead negotiator for Tier 1 health systems and other strategically vital provider partners, leveraging deep financial acumen and industry expertise to structure innovative, value-based agreements. This role is focused on driving significant financial and strategic outcomes through expert negotiation, sophisticated analysis, and C-suite relationship management. Success in this role is built on deep, trust-based relationships with our provider partners. Therefore, a core requirement of this position is residence within one of our key markets (IL, KY, AR, or MO) to ensure a consistent and impactful in-market presence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in managed care contracting, with a demonstrated track record of personally leading and winning multi-million dollar negotiations with major hospital systems.
  • Recognized as an expert in Medicare Advantage risk arrangements, including capitation, global risk, and shared savings models.
  • Proven ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, influence business decisions, and be accountable for financial results.
  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills are required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities

  • Personally own and lead the full lifecycle of high-stakes, multi-year contract negotiations with the company's largest and most complex health system partners.
  • Develop and execute sophisticated, data-driven negotiation strategies to secure best-in-class terms, with a heavy focus on advancing value-based care models.
  • Serve as the lead subject matter expert and internal consultant on complex reimbursement methodologies, risk arrangements, and negotiation tactics, working with complete latitude for independent judgment.
  • Create, analyze, and present complex financial models to justify negotiation positions and demonstrate the financial impact of proposed terms to executive leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong, influential peer-to-peer relationships with C-suite and senior executives at major provider organizations, acting as a distinguished representative of the company.
  • This is a senior individual contributor leadership role with no direct reports.
