Working for our team, you can truly make a difference. We are currently looking for a Press Operator Assistant to join our team. The Press Assistant role is responsible for the setup and support of printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team player
  • Ability to read and understand a job ticket
  • Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)
  • Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)
  • Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)
  • Ability to input data into the computer
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions
  • Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time
  • The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch, reaching with arms and hands, and talking and hearing.
  • This position requires frequent walking.
  • Occasionally, an employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Assertive and solution-focused
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Print shop experience helpful, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
  • Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes
  • Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)
  • Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover
  • Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment
  • Strips plates from cylinders
  • Locates dies to and from the press
  • May be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light
  • Comply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC
  • May be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentation
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and the organization of the workspace
  • Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned
  • Related duties as assigned
