About The Position

Hello, Cascades at St Anne in Seattle, WA is actively looking to hire a PRN/On-Call Dietary Cook . At Cascades at St Anne, our goal in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) is to provide each patient with top-quality care. We strive to maximize each patient's functional independence to safely discharge her/him to the next level of care. Our guiding motto is leading with integrity, empowering people, delivering outcomes. PRN/On Call Cooks do not have guaranteed hours and work on an as needed basis to cover call outs, vacancies, and staff on leave or vacation. Shift Schedule Day Shift: 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM Evening Shift: 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM

Requirements

Applicants must have prior experience working in a professional or institutional kitchen environment such as a restaurant, hospital, senior living facility, or school cafeteria, etc.
At least one year of cooking experience in a high-volume or bulk cooking environment is strongly preferred.
Food Handler's Permit required
High School diploma
Minimum 18 years of age
Possess excellent communication skills
Willing to provide direction to cook-aides and dish-aides, as needed
Possess a great attitude while providing prompt, efficient, and courteous service
Passion to learn and grow within the cooking profession

Nice To Haves

At least one year of cooking experience in a high-volume or bulk cooking environment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for ongoing meal production and timely meal service
Test new recipes
Clean the kitchen; put away/organize food deliveries
Assist with kitchen inspections as needed, to ensure the foodservice production area is safe and sanitary
Inspect storage areas on a regular basis for proper temperatures, cleanliness, and organization
