About The Position

As a PRN Pharmacist at Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy, you will work on an ad-hoc basis performing standard pharmacist duties in a closed-door setting. You will be responsible for providing coverage in times of high demand or when regular pharmacists are on paid leave. Great New Career Opportunity in Long-Term Care Pharmacy! Now Hiring – Pharmacist PRN Hours: PRN, between the hours of M-F 8a-4:30pEST or 8:30a-5pEST Location: Onsite in our Rocky Hill facility Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy – We are a long-term care pharmacy that provides specialized care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the United States. We have been providing long-term care pharmacy services since 2007, but we originated as part of our independent retail pharmacy, Tarrytown Pharmacy, which has been serving the local community since 1941. Through our dedication to provide excellence to our customers, we have grown from a small independent pharmacy to a multi-state long-term care pharmacy solution.

Requirements

Minimum one year experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy; 3+ years preferred.
Must possess a CT State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License.
Order Entry experience is required.
Positive personality who can work well within a team.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Can de-escalate and troubleshoot problems within the pharmacy.

Nice To Haves

Minimal typing speed of 40WPM preferred.
Medical Records experience preferred.
Experience with FrameworkLTC preferred.

Responsibilities

Manages the workflow processes which may include pharmacist verification and labeling/packaging.
Reviews medication orders and evaluate their appropriateness and completeness.
Complies with federal and local pharmacy laws as regulated by the State Boards of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration.
Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach.
Maintains required licenses or certifications in good standing.
Complies with all company policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
All other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist-in-Charge.
