About The Position

Leads key projects and develops networks, teams and linkages to rapidly implement new product processes, process changes and formulations that comply with environmental regulations, reduce process and formulation costs, and improve existing plant processes at all plant sites.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience with manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills and excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to make decisions, rapidly experiment and quickly move forward often with many variables, incomplete information and multiple other cross-functional considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Take leadership role in new product development activities with all marketing, plant, engineering and R&D groups to assure successful and rapid progress of new product startups. This can include ownership of a project from start to finish including formulation, scale-up, consumer validation and turnover to Operations.
  • Converting small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations
  • Conduct vendor evaluations to determine process capacity and capability
  • Develop new technologically innovative products that delight consumers and fit within the company’s strategic plan. Identify, develop, and modify new technologies from outside sources. Identify and engage external vendors and technical resources that can fill gaps /assist in-house developers with continuing technical issues.
  • Employ effective communication skills and partner independently with Marketing, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Consumer Affairs to ensure that all necessary parameters are tracking and that the proper functions are engaged to avoid last minute issues.
  • Complete and provide all pertinent Technology specifications to include (but not limited to) Technical Feasibility, Product Specifications, Material Safety Data Sheets, ACMI & Micro documentation test methods and conversion methods.
  • Represent Technology Development at weekly cross-functional team meetings. Provide technological assessments and recommendations for new and existing products.
  • Present new and upcoming technologies (new product development, product improvements, and cost savings) to management at R&D Technology Share events. Prepare power point presentations and product displays.
  • Partner with Market Research to utilize Consumer Research throughout product development to identify consumer insights, anticipate and address negative attributes of products and ensure high rankings on Amazon.com, Walmart.com and other online retail portals.
  • Establishing preliminary project and product cost estimates.
