About The Position

The Role: Our site in Colorado Springs, CO - Rockrimmon is seeking a Process Engineer Co-Op to join our team for the Fall 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration, beginning in June through December. Our site manufactures Micro contamination Control (MC) membrane products such as ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UPE) membrane and other membrane products for Semi-conductor and Life Science industries. As part of this effort, you will support the commissioning and qualifying of both processes and equipment for use in high volume production.

Requirements

  • Strong communicator, effective communicating amongst others.
  • Detail oriented and desire to ask questions to establish a deep understanding of the manufacturing process.
  • Basic understanding of core mechanical and chemical engineering principles.
  • Basic understanding of DOE and DMAIC principles.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-June through December.
  • Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program

Responsibilities

  • Support equipment testing and commissioning activities of the membrane.
  • Work hands-on with production operators and engineers on the manufacturing floor.
  • Collect and analyze data such as process parameters, yields, and equipment downtime.
  • Determine root causes and report to engineering team.
  • Complete design work and 3D print prototypes, evaluate and improve designs for permanent fixtures.
  • Assist with experimental trial runs; testing process parameters, gathering samples, and interpreting basic results of key outputs.
  • Help develop SOPs and document SAT activities.
