Your Opportunity Want to see what process engineering is actually like outside the classroom? Stantec is looking for a Process Engineer Intern to join our team in the heart of Austin for Summer 2026. You’ll work alongside a dynamic team of Process Engineers and Designers engaged in semiconductor and advanced manufacturing projects — cutting edge facilities pushing the boundaries of semiconductor technology. Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software platform and one or more of the following: AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu and/or Navisworks.
  • Able to develop and work from Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), with appropriate mentorship.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining project files and information received from clients and vendors.
  • Strong sense of ownership, dedication and willingness to learn.
  • Currently enrolled in a four-year (minimum) degree in an appropriately related discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of relevant engineering intern experience

Responsibilities

  • Development of Process Flow Diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Specification of process equipment and instrumentation for quotation and coordination with process designers for incorporation of equipment into project.
  • Assist with 3D facility design and equipment layouts including generation of sketches and coordination with process designers on General Arrangement drawings.
  • Performing fieldwork necessary to gather data, check tie-ins and provide construction support.
  • Coordinating with other disciplines and construction trades as necessary.
  • Perform calculations, create analytical models using simulation software, and create spreadsheet based engineering tools as directed.
