All internship positions are designed to give college students an opportunity to apply techniques learned in an academic setting while obtaining new skills. This is a paid internship offering full-time hours during the summer months. All interns are required to conclude the program by giving a formal presentation on their work. Please note that no relocation assistance or sponsorship is provided for the internship program at this time. Position Summary: The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Biologists, and Scientists within the Process Engineering group. This internship will provide hands-on experience supporting feasibility studies and development of new test methods for ProteinSimple platforms. The intern will perform laboratory experiments, pipetting, sample preparation, data collection and analysis to explore innovative approaches for process improvement. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to immunoassays, microfluidic consumables, and test method development in a high-tech life sciences environment.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical engineering or Chemical engineering
  • Must have completed (at minimum) the sophomore year of college
  • Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program
  • Pipetting skills and familiarity with basic laboratory techniques
  • Coursework or lab experience in biology, chemistry, or engineering
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to R for data analysis is a plus
  • Exposure to fluid dynamics basic principles is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and iteratively refine test methods for process characterization
  • Sample preparation, immunoassay execution for feasibility experiments
  • Collect and organize experimental data for team review
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
  • Collaborate with team members across R&D and manufacturing functions
