We are seeking a Process Engineering Manager for our Nutek location in McElhattan, Pa. This position will be responsible for managing a team of process engineers to provide technical leadership for high-speed manufacturing processes. Provides technical leadership and support to achieve required new products and product improvements, manufacturing cost, quality improvements and manufacturing equipment utilization, reliability, speeds, scrap rates, and efficiency goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or equivalent.
  • 7-10 years’ experience as an Engineering Manager within a high-speed continuous process manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Continuous improvement, lean manufacturing methodologies experience is a plus.
  • Has training in SPC, DOE, and Applied Problem-Solving techniques and has demonstrated successes applying these tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manages process engineering services and service levels across different assets within the plant based on business needs.
  • Uses data to drive decision making to ensure teams are prioritizing high impact projects.
  • Partners closely with product development, production, and plant engineering to prioritize and plan project work.
  • Drives team improvements through a training plan focused on developing technical skills such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Black Belt, and Data Analysis.
  • Oversees engineering, critical process descriptions and catalogues.
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations for process improvement.
  • Manages demand for process-oriented projects and services.
  • Simulates new process designs.
  • Provides technical leadership for continuous improvement projects to drive improvements in efficiency, scrap, speeds, quality, and safety.
  • Ensures technical training to operators and maintenance as needed is being completed.
  • Collaborates with PD for new products and material trials.
  • Maintains, audits, and updates as needed “Good Run” documentation, ensuring process conditions and measurements are defined, documented, and shared with operators.
  • Drives standardization across all platforms to ensure operator aids are consistent.
  • Leads development of technical training aids through standard work.
  • Provides guidance/direction on development and implementation of process control tools such as good run documentation and process centerlines.
  • Ensure critical process parameters are monitored and followed.
  • Reviews product specifications and BOM’s for accuracy.
  • Leads/directs development of standardization of process documentation.
  • For new lines/equipment, leads the process definition on new production lines and major equipment and the startup, ensuring all process “Good Run” conditions and measurements are defined, documented, and shared with operators.
  • Provides direction and guidance on implementation and management of good run documentation and process control tools on new lines/equipment.
  • Has access to sensitive technology and operational improvement plans.
  • Acts as responsible company contact in dealings with outside equipment and service providers.
  • Works effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, and outside OEM’s, to constructively define and solve problems.
  • Provides technical leadership to assigned teams and routinely uses team member’s input to solve routine and long- term problems.
  • Completes tasks on time, within budget, and with expected results.
  • Develops and effectively applies ongoing measurements to define problems and monitor progress for assigned lines.
  • Uses SPC techniques to ensure problems are defined and fixed.
  • Demonstrates product specification: BOM: performance understanding and acts as line training resource.
  • Demonstrates urgency in resolving issues.
  • Continually re-evaluates and adjusts plans based on changing business priorities to attain required results.
  • Adapts & leads change and constructively supports ongoing improvement philosophy throughout the company and particularly on his/her assigned lines.
  • Develops and implements aggressive plans with minimal disruption on assigned production lines.
  • Instills sense of urgency with team and peers to maintain focused actions.
  • Focuses personal efforts and those online team to achieve agreed upon results.
  • Clarifies unclear requests to get support from other parts of the organization.
  • Provides technical coaching to peers and line crews as needed.
  • Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations/guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
