About The Position
The Process Excellence Fellow provides hands-on performance improvement support to the organization using Lean principles and methodologies to achieve measurable organizational goals. This paid fellowship supports the development and advancement of the Torrance Memorial Operating System and functions in an analyst, facilitator, trainer, and project management capacity as appropriate. The Fellow collaborates with clinical and operational teams to advance quality, safety, efficiency, and patient experience initiatives while gaining structured, real-world experience in healthcare performance improvement.
Requirements
- Masters Degree in Healthcare, Business, Engineering, or Healthcare related field
- Experience with Lean principles and methodologies
- Strong facilitation skills
- Presentation and communication skills
- Project management skills
Responsibilities
- Develops and prepares materials for performance improvement events and initiatives, including Lean events and workshops.
- Coordinates the development of project charters, timelines, and scheduling of improvement events.
- Facilitates process improvement teams and supports the development, implementation, and follow-up of action plans
- Manages assigned performance improvement projects to achieve established quality, safety, efficiency, and outcome goals.
- Supports and manages process change to ensure timely, high-quality, and sustainable completion of initiatives.
- Provides training and skills transfer to staff at all levels of the organization in Lean tools and methodologies.
- Demonstrates strong facilitation, presentation and communication skills
- Builds collaborative, professional relationships across all levels of the organization to support qualify and safety improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrates strong project management skills related to management of the various clinical performance improvement teams and communication of progress toward goals.
