About The Position

Process Mechanic-Painter Company: Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Aircraft Painter to support the Paint Team in Berkeley, Hazelwood or St. Charles, MO! A successful painter will prepare, paint, and finish coating to aircraft, parts, and assemblies. While on the shop floor you will also lay out paint schemes and designs. You will performs and complete specialized paint assignments. Teammates will identify nonconforming detail parts, assemblies and processes. You will be expected to work with engineering to improve manufacturing processes. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required Basic Qualifications: 1+ years’ experience spray painting (on the job or in an educational environment) Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with aerospace or automotive spray painting Experience with painting prep-work including sanding and masking Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies . New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of (120) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Layout and paint lettering, pictures and background with or without aids.
  • Apply stencils, layout and apply stripes, align and apply insignias and silk screens.
  • Layout, spray paint, and apply finish coats on exterior surface of completed aircraft.
  • Scuff, clean, mask, and spray apply coatings on interior and exterior of major assemblies.
  • Spray blend, roll, and touch up paint with brushes as required.
  • Use graphic aids and blueprints to measure and mask areas to omit paint.
  • Mix and apply paint, sealers, and fillers.
