As a Process Safety Engineer, you'll be embedded in a high -caliber team of engineers, industrial hygienists, and safety professionals, driving the development and execution of a world -class Process Safety Management program from the inside out. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in semiconductor or high -tech manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting P&IDs, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Working knowledge of RBPS, OSHA 1910.119, EPA 40 CFR Part 68, and semiconductor -specific safety standards
  • Strong communication and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to lead cross -functional safety initiatives
  • Must relocate to Syracuse, NY 13215 prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Hands -on PSM experience including PHA facilitation, MOC management, and incident investigation
  • Deep understanding of chemical hazards specific to semiconductor manufacturing and proven mitigation strategies
  • Professional certification in process safety or a related discipline — CSP, CIH, or ASP a strong plus
  • Experience managing safety documentation systems and leading continuous improvement through audits and metrics
  • Integrity -driven decision -making with a genuine, demonstrated commitment to employee health and safety

Responsibilities

  • Lead core PSM elements — Drive Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), and Incident Investigation processes with precision and accountability.
  • Own design safety reviews — Conduct detailed reviews of new fabrication tools, systems, and chemical processes to ensure every build meets compliance and performance standards before it goes live.
  • Evaluate change impacts — Assess equipment, procedure, and process changes for safety risk and deliver clear, actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate hazard analysis — Lead HAZOP, FMEA, and What -If sessions that identify risk before it becomes incident.
  • Support technology transfers — Prepare Safety Release Documents (SRDs), flammability studies, and hazard analyses to move new processes safely through the pipeline.
  • Track what matters — Monitor and report critical PSM performance metrics and drive closure of findings from reviews and investigations.
  • Maintain the paper trail — Keep process safety documentation — vendor bulletins, install packages, compliance records — accurate, current, and audit -ready.
  • Build safety culture — Show up in training sessions, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives as a visible advocate for doing things the right way.
