About The Position

We are looking for a motivated, collaborative and creative individual to join the high-performing Chemical Process Development (ChemPD) team. This ChemPD role will span across all divisions with active partnerships throughout BSC’s global network. The successful candidate has a very good understanding of Chemical processing specifically but not limited to vacuum based processing. Responsibilities that include data analysis, equipment operation and identification of process improvements. As ChemPD team member, the candidate will support new product development, commercial value improvements, and technical advancements that align with tech roadmap strategy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with a high school diploma/degree/equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education/work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with alternative chemical processing such as Solution Castings, E-spin or general chemical mixing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • As a key member of the New Product Development team, you will apply technical knowledge to innovate, design & develop processes, and advance emerging technology.
  • Applicable equipment and development experience with vacuum systems such as CVD-parylene, PVD-sputter, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition systems, and/or RF plasma.
  • Collaborates & partners with R&D to develop product concepts, influence design specifications and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
  • Works cross functionally to own, develop, & deliver capable and robust processes and equipment to operations.
  • Develop experimental strategy and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews.
  • Assisting in the analyzing, designing, and implementation of manufacturing and business process improvement, resulting in increased capacity, reducing lead-time, reduction in the work-in-process, improve fill-rates, and improve process flow and efficiency.
  • Create strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure project success
  • Applies in-depth knowledge, specialized skills and expertise in a range of business/customer/technical processes
  • Hands-on experience with vacuum systems. Operates and maintains equipment. Maintain and improve vacuum deposition equipment; assists with preventive maintenance.
  • Partnering with R&D & commercial operations to deliver and launch new products Previous New Product Development experience, with working experience to navigate Design cycle phase gates and risk management deliverables.
  • Uses knowledge of how the team contributes to achieving its objectives and how related teams coordinate their efforts and resources to achieve shared objectives.
  • Utilizes DMAIC and statistical problem-solving tools to provide technical solutions that are complex, atypical or infrequently occurring based on practice, proven processes and existing precedents or procedures; may make recommendations for continuous quality improvement methods.
