The Processing Technician will work to complete tasks and ensure procedures are adhered to and work is completed during quality and operations on flight hardware integration processes. This position requires skill and experience in a variety of areas, including mechanical assembly, rigging, electrical checkouts, and satellite troubleshooting. In short, you will be supporting tasks to process & integrate the Leo satellite for launch, ensuring high quality, workmanship and safety standards are adhered to on a daily basis. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport & must meet customs entry requirements to include but not limited to: Yellow Fever vaccine and other immunization requirements as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Ability to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks
  • Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude in hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
  • Experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
  • A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments
  • Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environments
  • Experience in a fast-paced processing environment
  • Experience working with Foreign Object Debris (FOD), ESD sensitive hardware, and in a clean room
  • Experience with forklifts, cranes, rigging, and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)

Responsibilities

  • Can apply a deep understanding of a broad range of tools, equipment, and handling machinery to accomplish your daily tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Upholds all safety requirements in all zones and work locations of responsibility
  • Supports team members in flight hardware processing in work zones
  • Execute assigned work to meet production schedules
  • Support Integration and test of the Leo satellite and various complex sub-assemblies in a clean-room and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controlled environment
  • Rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive flight hardware
  • Able to obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and/or certifications as required
  • Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multi-meters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
  • Support functional and environmental testing on units, including some basic troubleshooting operations
  • Use computer software programs for controlling tests
  • Check and inspect your work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawing and work instruction requirements
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
  • Perform other duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient, safe and effective work environment
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Shift schedule will vary, depending on production/launch schedules
  • Must be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25% annually, either domestically or internationally as business needs demand
