About The Position

The Procurement Assistant supports purchasing operations by pricing vendors, managing procurement data in the IQMS system, and ensuring invoice accuracy across purchasing and accounts payable. This role requires strong data skills, organizational abilities, and the flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Procurement Assistant role also will be accountable for creating purchase orders for indirect materials and services to ensure the organization’s operational needs are met.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration; Supply Chain Management; High school diploma or equivalent required [added]
  • Experience using IQMS or similar ERP systems strongly preferred
  • Strong Excel and data mining skills required; ability to pull, analyze, and present purchasing data
  • Previous experience with invoice matching and reconciliation processes
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Effective communicator with strong follow-up and documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Background in plastic injection molding, extrusion, or packaging logistics a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Track, organize, and maintain procurement data within the IQMS ERP system.
  • Assist with invoice reconciliation, investigating discrepancies with vendors and AP to ensure balance.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, related to operations for Indirect suppliers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain and update procurement records, purchase orders, and vendor files as needed.
  • Partner with Director of Purchasing to create KPI’s and/or a Purchasing dashboard to track departmental performance organizationally and report out monthly.
  • Create and manage Excel spreadsheets for cost tracking, supplier performance, and audit trails.
  • Work directly with Director of Purchasing to develop key metrics that drive supplier performance and internal efficiencies.
  • Support documentation of procurement processes for internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Quality, Receiving, AP) to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
  • Maintain procurement SOP’s and databases for internal and external audits using internal tools.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, products and cost savings opportunities.
  • Ability to multi-task with a high level of attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Provide administrative support to the corporate procurement team, including organizing meetings, preparing reports, and managing correspondence.
