About the position

As a Procurement Category Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the marketing procurement strategy across Rocket Companies. You will serve as the subject matter expert for marketing supplier partnerships-driving value, optimizing costs, and ensuring outstanding service delivery in collaboration with cross-functional partners. By managing relationships with agencies and vendors in areas such as brand, media, PR, marketing data, performance marketing, and production, you will directly support Rocket's bold marketing vision and growth. Your leadership will bring innovation, structure, and efficiency to the marketing procurement process while fueling an agile, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the category subject matter expert for marketing procurement, leading RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes specific to brand, media, performance marketing, PR, marketing data, and production
  • Collaborate with marketing teams and the contracts team to negotiate with vendors and secure the best value for marketing services
  • Track internal marketing procurement performance and benchmark against industry standards to identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend both existing and new marketing vendors and agencies to align with evolving marketing needs
  • Conduct in-depth market research to inform sourcing decisions, vendor selection, and to understand competitive cost structures and market innovation in the marketing category
  • Offer alternative sourcing approaches or vendor recommendations to business partners, ensuring the selection of best-value marketing partners
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to develop, review, and execute marketing contracts, ensuring timely renewals and strict adherence to internal policies as well as QL governance and risk management standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 4 or more years of management and strategic procurement experience within the marketing space
  • Direct experience with RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes, especially for marketing services
  • Proven expertise in negotiating and managing contracts and relationships with marketing agencies, suppliers, and platform

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated ability to optimize category performance and cost within marketing procurement, including benchmarking against industry standards
  • Experience identifying and onboarding new marketing suppliers to address evolving business objectives
  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and educating business partners about vendor management and supplier accountability
  • Knowledge of procurement policy compliance and risk mitigation specific to marketing sourcing and contracting
