About The Position

Amazon installs a significant quantity of new buildings every year. The historical model has been to allow each integrator to use their own equipment, controls, subsystems, and methodologies. While that has allowed Amazon to be successful to this point, the variability between buildings has proven difficult to support and scale. One MHS’ charge is to build partnerships to focus on consistency and scalability across our network of the future. We will be partnering with key suppliers to help them scale up their manufacturing capabilities to keep up with our needs, as well as refining their designs to drive innovation and operational uptime and better meet the specific needs of Amazon’s operational environment. In partnership with WWDE, OMHS will challenge the status quo on our Gen14 AR sortables building by focusing on critical equipment, controls, and system implementation methods. We are seeking a Procurement Category Manager (PCM) to join our One-MHS team & to partner with internal business owners and key stakeholders across One-MHS & partner organizations, to drive procurement and operational value for these MHE systems. This role leads the development and execution of capital sourcing strategies for equipment, components that are part of the overall MHE systems. Our PCM drive efficiencies in procurement strategy and commercial pricing, enable engineering efficiencies through effective partnership with Amazon’s design teams, and support Amazon’s long-term business interests through partnership within One-MHS teams as well as other teams like GPO, Capital Planning, Project Management Organization (PMO), Worldwide Design Engineering (WWDE), Finance, Global Engineering Services (GES) Operations Engineering (Ops Eng.), and Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (RME). This role will involve developing and executing category sourcing strategies, delivering savings, and improving productivity across the category.
