About The Position

As a Senior Procurement Agent, you will play a key role in ensuring reliable, cost-effective supply of direct materials across Glanbia’s manufacturing network. You will manage end-to-end procurement activities, support continuous improvement initiatives, and act as a strategic partner to plant operations and cross-functional teams. This role is critical to maintaining uninterrupted production and driving operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; or high school diploma/GED with 7+ years of relevant procurement or supply chain experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, and advanced computer applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of numeracy and ability to apply statistical and mathematical concepts.
  • Proven ability to lead by example and coach others.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS CSCP or ISM CPSM/CPSD certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in a food or fortification manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement execution for assigned direct material categories, managing over 3,000 purchase orders annually and more than $60M in spend.
  • Monitor MRP/ERP systems, validate recommendations, and adjust order volumes to meet planning best practices and supplier capabilities.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to minimize stockouts, reduce waste, and meet customer demand.
  • Track order confirmations, expedite urgent needs, and communicate supply risks proactively.
  • Partner with logistics and suppliers to deliver on-time, in-full shipments supporting production schedules.
  • Serve as the primary procurement contact for operations, supply chain, warehouse, quality, and PSM teams.
  • Lead Procurement’s S&OE meetings and report supply challenges and risk mitigation plans.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve material shortages, shipment issues, documentation gaps, and quality concerns.
  • Support commercialization of new materials and specification changes.
  • Ensure alignment with category strategies and escalate non-standard sourcing needs when required.
  • Maintain accurate GMP-compliant records, manage non-conformance processes, and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Drive continuous improvement through change projects involving processes, data, systems, and capability building.
  • Train new procurement team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Champion Glanbia’s values and provide backup support to the Procurement team.
  • Adhere to all safety and food safety protocols including SQF, FDA, and PMO standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
