Position Description Vantage is seeking a selfstarter for the role of Procurement Manager to oversee Substation OFCI (Owner Furnished–Contractor Installed) equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for recordkeeping, assisting in maintaining product specifications, onboarding and supplier relationship management, specification compliance, monitoring and managing purchase orders, obtaining vendor submittals, preparing status and tracking reports for the company, coordinating audits and factory witness tests with engineering and consultants, ensuring on time delivery and commissioning, and supporting the Senior Manager and leadership in their daily tasks. Regular collaboration and coordination are required with our supply chain partners and internal teams such as Energy, Engineering, Operations, and Legal, as well as multiple Construction Management teams. Travel will be necessary to various factories for factory witness testing, audits, onboarding of new vendors, and conferences. Minimal travel to Vantage Data Center sites may also be required occasionally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is acceptable; degrees in Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration are preferred; MBA or advanced degree is not required but considered a plus.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or construction is required; candidates with an advanced degree may qualify with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Substation construction, large scale infrastructure construction, or industrial equipment experience is strongly prefferd.
  • Aptitude to learn quickly and drive tasks to closure is required.
  • Strong business acumen with a solid commercial background is required.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques is required.
  • Superb communication skills and the ability to comfortably present to executive level leadership
  • Travel required is expected to be 10-20% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for power substation OFCI equipment that align with project requirements, cost targets, risk management practices, and broader business objectives.
  • Oversee the full procurement lifecycle, from RFP development through bid evaluation, award, contracting, manufacturing, testing, delivery, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Implement new processes and tools to enhance scalability, efficiency, compliance, and support overall business growth.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, market dynamics, and supplier innovations to inform sourcing strategies, identify cost‑savings opportunities, and proactively mitigate supply‑chain risks.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between supply chain partners and internal stakeholders, communicating changes in product lead-times and costs.
  • Establish, strengthen, and sustain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure alignment on quality, delivery, and long‑term partnership objectives.
  • Lead contract negotiations to secure competitive commercial terms, mitigate risk, and drive value for the business.
  • Develop and oversee a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program focused on performance monitoring, continuous improvement, and supplier innovation.
  • Optimize and manage the supply base to ensure capabilities, capacity, and cost structures align with Vantage’s long‑term operational and strategic goals.
  • Manage recurring progress calls with vendors, document meeting minutes, and track action items and deliverables to ensure timely follow‑through.
  • Drive cost‑effective procurement and ensure on‑time delivery of equipment and materials to support project schedules and budget objectives.
  • Support Finance and Accounting teams by resolving invoicing discrepancies, providing cash‑flow inputs, and assisting with project budget reconciliation.
  • Capture and communicate lessons learned to promote continuous improvement across procurement processes, supplier management, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Work closely with the Energy, Engineering, New Site Development, & Construction teams to develop strategic sourcing strategy and deliver projects.
  • Support change management and product optimization.
  • Promote a collaborative environment to achieve common goals.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and internal company policies.
  • Oversee supplier qualification and requalification processes to maintain approved supplier status.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.
