The Procurement Manager position at the City of Tucson’s Business Services Department is responsible for providing oversight, direction, guidance and approval of the activities of three (3) levels of contracting staff. This position performs professional-level work in the planning, organization, development, and coordination of the centralized contracting activities of the City of Tucson and acts as a liaison between customers, contractors, and the public to ensure customer needs are met, fair competition is maximized, federal, state, and local laws are adhered to throughout the procurement process, and selected contractors perform in accordance with the contract. The Procurement Manager is ultimately responsible for guiding the technical and professional development of new staff members and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of their work. Work is performed under the supervision of the Procurement Administrator. This position exercises supervision over contract personnel.
